so the other thing i'm noticing is that monsters 8/10 times have shielding... and they are able to cast arcane/jailer/wall much more frequently... anyone else noticing this?

@euggie I keep getting a lot of shielding myself.

I am really enjoying 1.05. I feel like I can survive while using a much wider variety of skills (not having to use gloom all the time). I'm enjoying actually trying builds I never thought of before. I'm currently using the boar resistance increase pet, and the damage reduction turret. Also I feel I am able to switch back to bola shot (my favorite hatred generator).

I keep finding horde. It was a lot for me back in 1.0.4 but seems to be even more currently.

Ddin't want to start a new thread to ask this, but what are people's experiences with Treasure Demons in 1.05?

I am only on monster power 1, and have killed about five so far. They seem to retreat much less so than in the previous version? They don't even start to run away until its almost 3/4 the way dead now. Is it just me?

I haven't noticed any difference but I haven't been paying attention to them... I'l look next time I kill one.

I run most shit at MP4, takes slightly longer to kill elites but other than that I find it easier than before.

It occurs to me that the trash is easier to take out, (get it?...trash?...nevermind) but the elites hit harder and are generally the combinations of affixes that are hardest to deal with. Imho...for what its worth. I have been farming mostly on MP3 as this closely resembles Inferno before the patch, at least in my eyes.

Anyone else feel this way?

Also, I know the rings and ammys are the primary recipients of the increased stats, but, what are the odds of finding upgrades for my monkey in the same 12 hour period? This is a rhetorical question. I am still astounded by this.

There is a sound playing but I realized it for the first time on the 3rd gob because its not a very special one.

Shielding and arcane I recogniced much more than before too.
And sometimes the ensured rare drop on 5 nv stacks is missing. Somebody else seen this?

Legendaries/Set items seem to drop with an almost facetious frequency. Take a look at how cheap Inna's Temperance is now (at least the lower end ones) compared to how much it was pre-patch. It's difficult to estimate the increase in drop rate, but it's gotta be at least double. Increased MF by running MP would help A TINY BIT, but i'm almost certain they flat out increased legendary drop rates.

The Infernal Machine is a nice diversion, but it's really a lot of effort for a rather average ring (unless it rolls gg stuff, which, statistically speaking, would require you to farm dozens, if not hundreds, of rings). If you run MP 5 (which is already pretty slow and difficult), you would have to do 14 runs (2 runs for each boss) on average to get a ring. What if you're weak and you can only do MP 2? That's going to take 35 runs on average to get a ring! It's definitely better than nothing though, since otherwise, it would be 35 runs of NOTHING (and you do farm different acts for a little variety).

I'm thinking somewhere between MP3 and MP5 is the optimal power level. Why? Because when you can get DPS around 100k+ (which isn't too hard these days), defense becomes a non-issue. I have only 3500 armor and 415 resist, but I can confidently run Act 3 on MP3 without dying (except maybe reflect damage elites). My DPS is high enough that I just kill things before they can have a chance to hurt me. Beyond MP5, mob HP is simply too high to 1-2 shot things and you're forced into becoming more defensive. Becoming more defensive is likely to hurt your killing power, which ultimately hurts the only thing that really matters: killing efficiency. Because of the poor additive scaling of MF/EXP bonus, the only PLAUSIBLE explanation to run higher MP is for the keys, which I'm kinda salted on.

One question I do have: is there a stat roll difference between sub ilvl 61 items and 61+ items now? Before, sub 61 armor was essentially useless because of the hard cap on stat rolls. That seems to have changed though: I found some level 58 pants that had 135 dex and 195 vit. It would certainly change the way I pick up items.

Best thing so far: 1 second ID time for rares. Holy crap. I've probably saved 45 minutes and loads of sanity by being able to not have to stare at a screen ID'ing rares.

They did say it was doubled

now items roll stats based on the monster's lvl, so at mplvl1 all the items will roll ilvl63 stats... so yes in essence you can roll ivl63 stats on lvl58 items... strange

my question is... what about chests and corpses? What are their levels? not 63 right?

That definately made me do a double take. It is rather weird when some of the rares you find at lvl 58 are better than the 61+'s.

Found a nice pallium (62) off of X'ah'Rith in act 3. 140 str, 110 vit, 71 all res. Hopefully it sells well. Like in the tens of millions. Or hundreds of millions would be better actually...who do I talk to to make that happen? BLIZZARD!! OOOOOOH BLIIIIZZZZZARD!!!!
Wait, where are you going, Blizzard. Get back here!!!!

how do the drops compare from the ptr to the "real servers" ?
i'm def getting more legendaries, but I'm wondering if its at the same as ppl expected after playing on ptr?
I still haven't found a single set piece, except for the ik helm in 104

random question, do gems higher than flawless square drop in game? or do you need to craft them always?

Only Flawless Squares drop, so yeah, you still have to craft.

Legendary drops are much better now. I usually find one every run I do with my monk. Sets still seem really rare. Haven't found one yet, although I've found 12 legendaries.
