Why do you specifically want one that is +% to fire? No matter which element the ring has, all of the thunderclap damage will be converted to thunder and all of the fire storm damage will be fire. The +% is already factored into your DPS beforehand.

But the property is "adds x% to fire damage." It's not "fire skills deal x% more damage." We talked about the differences back in this thread. Khan linked to a blue post that confirmed how it functioned, and Metta did some actual testing. I don't see why the SoJ would act any different than the other items with this same property.

Basically, if you have +6% to any element on the SoJ, it will add 6% to the total of your non-elemental damage (weapons, rings, etc). If you use a physical attack, then it would apply the element (like using the cold one on the scoundrel). If you use something like thunderclap, it's all converted tol lightning damage, but you're still getting that 6% boost.

I never possess one. Is it any good, under what circumstances?

Maybe..... it is believed that some mobs are wearing Andariel's Visage and @Baldy want them to pay for wearing those helms.
